If I can stop smoking so can you – I am posting this as a quick reminder that we have to stop smoking and a bit of motivation for you!
I really did not think I could do it – Especially after trying once before and failing…
I have always had in my mind that I will one day stop smoking I just had no idea when I would – or if I would and more so if I was capable.
So here is my first video and the first half of my stop smoking story!
It turns out I am. I have not had a cigarette for over 6 months now, I do on occasion smoke a cigar when I’m out with the guys or a wedding or any other occasion… but very rarely. In the last 6 months I have had 12 or 14 cigars (2 more since I started making videos about it.)
When I think back to what helped me the most right at the very beginning at the most crucial time when stopping smoking it has to be that I still continued smoking – just not cigarettes and NO not e-cigarettes either!! Although I do have an occasional vape now.
I smoked herbal concoctions – I smoked lavender, papaya leaves, mint, EVERY herb imaginable (yep EVERY 🙂 but in all sincerity I stopped smoking cigarettes and started smoking herbal NON addictive concoctions that really satisfied my need to still smoke and that not even the best e cig can do… But I was still smoking, and, I really did not enjoy it – while they may sound exotic and tasty and yummy they are far from it – I mean it smelled delicious in the pouch but when I rolled them up it was like smoking garbage – ok I did find a few decent blends and right at the point of getting into them and being able to tolerate them I had an AHA moment.
This is the time to just stop – I’m doing exactly what I was doing when I first started smoking getting used to it – remember when you started smoking your first smoke was horrible, and you really had to force it down. So now, here I am 20 years doing the same thing with these herbal smokes – so I just stopped right then and there – no more smoking anything. Nothing. I was not addicted anymore – I got the need out of my system they helped me forget about cigarettes and nicotine and because I was not actually addicted to them since they are not addictive (no nicotine) I just stopped! Just like that.
Now I smoke the occasional cigar and in between I vape a little. You know, it take me a whole week to kill a battery and go through the same others go through in half a day – so Im doing ok.
Now, over this time of quitting cigarettes the other thing I did notice – within weeks – is how much healthier I felt.
I mean listen to this.
I normally call someone on the way home from work and right as you come out of the office I work in there is a hill I have no choice but to go up – I would be out of breath every time and when I was on the phone I would make up excuses that I’m running for a bus or somthing, I would never say I’m just walking up this little hill and I can hardly breathe!
So after 3 weeks of no smoking I was on the phone with my mum and I just powered up this hill not even noticing it and I’m half way up the block and turn around and was like, huh, what happened to that hill! I wasn’t even out of breath! Cool as a cucumber and I didn’t even start doing any exercise yet!! This is just from stopping smoking.
